  • Working as a North Carolina wedding photographer is a dream. Currently located in Lillington, NC, and the drive by cotton and tobacco fields, under a canopy of trees, while the warm sun kisses my face is a thing dreams are made of.

It's details like this that make North Carolina weddings so enjoyable. Warm brides with gentle smiles, excited grooms with nervous hands, and hospitable families generously offering their love, lives, and homes to others.

Good photography is a pause button on details and emotions like this. Great photography will take you right back to the moment when they happened and help you re-live the most important moments of your life.

Britt-marie’s Headshots | Denver, CO

There are a few things I’m mad about in life.  I love Starbucks, I love photography, and I ADORE my friends!!!  Seriously… Some of my friends are the most amazing people in the world.  There was one day in particular where I got to enjoy all three in the same day!  I jumped at the opportunity to take a few headshot photos of my favorite Panamanian.  Folks, she’s a Spanish teacher going for her Masters, she sings and dances, AND she can Zumba like a mad woman.  (Not to mention single, nudge nudge!)

I think she’s stunningly beautiful and I’m so blessed to have her as a friend:) Take a look at what we did!

Hadassah + Fabian | Raleigh, NC Elopement

We’re starting to see a lot more elopements in the wedding industry.  People argue that elopements don’t make sense because an elopement technically isn’t a “planned” thing, so planning for it doesn’t seem right.  Say what you want about them- I ADORE THEM.  It it seriously a photographers delight!  Give us a dressed up couple, a beautiful place to play, and all the time in the world and we seriously couldn’t ask for anything more in life!

I have a few more coming up this year and this made me SO excited for them!  We had a great time at the Arboretum and I’m excited to go back there when spring has sprung!  But, even with dead trees and brown grass, I still think we created some beautiful photos!

Summer + Family | Fayetteville, NC Families

One of the greatest lessons I learned from working with Summer, Anthony and their adorable creations, was that life is messy.  Life is complicated.  And to expect to create perfect photos where families are all smiles and all looking at the camera, is often times unrealistic and boring.  What is fun and perfect, are the imperfect photos that come from living an actual life.  Maybe it’s not our job as photographers to create all the time- sometimes it’s just to document what exists.  And in this family portrait session, what existed was a fun, loving family that is perfect in their own way!

Enjoy!

Kate + Dan | Jefferson, NC Wedding

Kate and Dan were my first North Carolina couple booked.  It was awesome to have it be in the North Carolina mountains since I’m used to having Colorado mountains in the background of my weddings!  The drive up to the location was …ahem… less than enjoyable, but as soon as I arrived at the Twickenham House (and when the sun came back up) my breath was taken away!  Literally!  I forgot what a little change in elevation does to one’s lungs;)

We had a beautiful day and even got to do some extra photos the day after the wedding. (Those are coming next to the ol’ blogeroo!) Their families and friends were so welcoming to me and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end my 2012 season!  Check out their hard work, this was such a fun, detailed wedding!

Little Luke | Fayetteville Baby Portraits

First off, I just want to say how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE Groupon!!  I was lucky to be a featured deal at the end of May and I have been given a few opportunities to branch out in my work!  I adore my work in weddings, but I feel so thankful that I now get some chances to shoot babies and families! (With cameras… not guns.)

My first groupon session was with Natalie and her son, Luke!  He has SUCH BEAUTIFUL blue eyes, I just couldn’t get enough of him!!  And add on top of that how welcoming and generous Natalie was as a fellow military spouse.  It’s once again proof that it’s the people you’re surrounded with that make the experience a great one in the military!

Here’s a few of my favorites from my time with Luke:)
